“We demand that they stop firing heavy weapons,” Andriy Tuz, a spokesperson for the Enerhodar facility, said in a video uploaded on Telegram. “There is a significant concern of nuclear risk in Europe’s largest atomic energy station.”
The facility generates almost one-quarter of Ukraine’s electricity.

Tuz told Ukrainian media that shells were dropping straight on the Zaporizhzhia plant, causing one of the facility’s six reactors to catch fire. That reactor is being renovate and is not operational at the moment, but there is nuclear fuel within, he claims.
Tuz state that firefighters are unable to approach the fire because they are being shot at.
A live-streamed security video linked from the nuclear power plant’s homepage showed armoured vehicles rolling into the facility’s parking lot and putting lighting on the structure where the camera was located. Then there appear to be intense muzzle flashes from vehicles, followed by practically simultaneous explosions in the adjacent buildings. After then, smoke rises and travels across the picture.
Enerhodar
The battle in Enerhodar, a city on the Dnieper River that generates one-quarter of the country’s power, occurred as the two sides reached a tentative agreement to establish safe corridors inside Ukraine to evacuate civilians and supply humanitarian relief above all.
According to the mayor of Enerhodar, Ukrainian soldiers are fighting Russian troops on the city’s outskirts similarly. Flames and black smoke were seen rising over the city of more than 50,000 people, with people streaming past smashed automobiles, barely a day after the United Nations nuclear watchdog agency expressed deep fear that the violence could inflict unintended damage to Ukraine’s 15 nuclear reactors.
